I have been going to Emma for Personal Training sessions for the last year. I started off with the aspiration to improve my fitness for health reasons, but I have achieved so much more.

I started with a very low level of fitness and only a basic knowledge of how to use some fitness equipment.  I had never stuck to any sort of regular fitness routine and was absolutely certain that fitness work would always be something I viewed as a chore – necessary but not pleasurable.

One year on my overall fitness has improved immeasurably but more importantly so has my attitude to fitness.  I have learned so much from Emma; how to do things properly, how much and when to train – and why – and this has really helped my confidence and motivation.  This ‘learning’ has all been gradual; conversations during training sessions, answering my specific questions when I have had problems, and demonstrating techniques.

For me, the best thing has been having regular personal training sessions with Emma which I can plan in my diary.  Emma keeps training interesting with a huge variety of different exercises and training techniques, at first I struggled to make it through the hour but now the sessions usually go very quickly.  Her personality (firm but fair!) is perfect for me – I want a personal trainer to help me push myself and she cajoles and praises to get the maximum out of every session. It also works for me putting an appointment in my diary to train, because then I know I will escape from work and have an hour to focus on fitness. I love not having to plan or think about the session but just being able to rock up to her personal gym and enjoy!

Over the last few months I have been going to “emmagym” at her home, this has the advantage of a private space to train.  You can always have a confidential conversation, try out new exercises without embarrassment and, of course, the equipment is always available!
